My Analysis Topic

In my theme choices for this quarter, I was most interested in the topic of gender in the superhero genre. For me, superhero movies have been a favorite theme since I was a child, especially Marvel movies. It allows us to discuss the shaping and changing of gender roles through the lens of superheroes. The Guardians of the Galaxy series is known for its colorful characters and humor. I would like to focus on analyzing Gamora's gender performance and discover clues about gender identity and social expectations from her character development and character relationships in the series. By analyzing the gender roles of Gamora and other characters in depth, I want to be able to discover the deeper meanings that gender carries in this superhero movie world
